La noche del viernes pudo verse la Luna más brillante y grande de los últimos 15 años

Una Luna brillante y enorme, más brillante y enorme que nunca en 15 años, pudo ser contemplada la noche de viernes al sábado. Según informa la NASA y recoge Microsiervos, el satélite terrestre ha sido un 14% más grande y un 30% más brillante.
La luna se encontraba a 363.000 kilómetros de nuestro planeta, 30.000 kilómetros más cerca de lo habitual. Es decir, que su órbita estaba en su punto más cercano a nuestro planeta. La razón que este año el satelite se muestre tan rotundo es que el hecho de la cercanía coincide, por primera vez en 15 años, con una fase de luna llena.
Habrá que esperar al menos ocho años para que se vuelve a dar esta coincidencia. "Solo ocurre cada poco años que una luna llena coincide con la parte de la órbita de la Luna más cercana a la Tierra", explica Marek Kulula, astronómo del Royal Observatory británico en declaraciones a la BBC.
La mejor ocasión para observar este fenómeno, aconsejan los astrónomos, se produce cuando la Luna se encuentra cerca del horizonte. Ese es el momento en el cual la ilusión se mezcla con la realidad para producir esas imágenes a las que interrogaban hace milenios los poetas chinos.
